The Westleigh Swim Team was formed to provide an opportunity for children and teenagers under the age of 19 years, who are members of the Westleigh Recreation Club, to participate in the Montgomery County Swim League (MCSL). It provides an organized age-group swim program for the beginning swimmer to the most competitive and skilled swimmer. It is one unified team consisting of swimmers who compete in weekly swim meets and the preteam. Active Westleigh Swim Team members learn the life-long values of perseverance, sportsmanship, and teamwork.

The Westleigh Swim Team offers opportunities to participate in regular swim practices, “A” and “B” Swim Meets, Relay Carnivals, and the Divisional Championship. In addition, team members and their families help plan and participate in organized social events, a team field trip, and an end of the season banquet.

Support our sponsors

July 1st, 2009
dollar-signAll,

I just wanted to send out a quick reminder about our corporate sponsors.

This year we were able to raise a substantial amount of additional revenue for the team through our corporate sponsors. This is revenue that goes directly towards the many fun activities that we host: King’s Dominion, Friday night socials and the banquet.

Below is a list of our sponsors. You can also find links to many of our sponsors on our web site. When you visit their establishments, or use their services, please mention that you are with the Westleigh Swim Team. It is important that they know that their contributions are paying off. If we all make it a point to support these fine companies, they will all be much more likely to continue supporting us in the future.

Week Five Newsletter

Last Wednesday saw the Barracudas in Germantown for the season’s first B meet.  The coaches were thrilled with the number of “Best Times” posted by Westleigh swimmers.

On Saturday, Westleigh hosted Germantown in the 2nd A meet of the 2009 season.  The result was a resounding win for the Barracudas!  The week ended on Saturday night with the parent’s social hosted by Jack & Joanna Devine.  To say that it was an overwhelming success would just simply not do it justice!  Our sincere thanks go out to our hosts and to Linda Mayo, our social director, for all of their hard work.  The only problem now is; how will they top it next year?  J

Here is what’s in store for us this week:

1)      Wednesday night “B” Meet @ Manchester Farm

2)      Best Times

3)      Ribbons

4)      Volunteer Requirements for B Meets

5)      Friday night social

6)      Westleigh @ Woodley Gardens

7)      Reimbursements
